From 20 months to 2½ years

Foundations for Lifelong Learning

At Radiant Wisdom, our Jr. Preschool is where the journey begins. From 20 months up to about 2½ years, children are embarking on their first big steps toward independence, communication, curiosity, and self-confidence. Our program is purposefully crafted to support growth in every dimension: physical, emotional, social, and cognitive.

What Your Child Will Achieve

In Jr. Preschool, your child will:

  • Develop motor skills and coordination through movement-based, sensory, and hands-on activities that build strength, balance, and control.

  • Begin forming language foundations using stories, songs, and early exposure to multiple languages (English, Dutch, Papiamento, and Spanish).

  • Explore creative expression through music, art, and block building, nurturing early imagination and fine motor ability.

  • Cultivate self-care habits and basic independence, pouring, tidying, simple routines, and caring for their immediate environment.

  • Engage with natural materials and the outdoors, using sensory experiences, gardening, and texture play to awaken curiosity about the world around them.

We believe children this age learn best through active exploration and responsive guidance:

  • Learning occurs through movement, play, and sensory experience—these are the tools we use to help children build foundational skills.

  • Our environment is structured to support safety, discovery, and scaffolded independence. Teachers observe closely and adapt to each child’s pace.

  • Emphasis is placed on building social connection, emotional awareness, and the beginnings of self-regulation, helping toddlers feel secure, confident, and part of a caring community.​
